«The glacier softly answered»

The famous composer Geirr Tveitt from Hardanger would have celebrated his 100th birthday in 2008. Tveitt dedicated much of his career collecting old folk songs and brought to light many undiscovered tunes from the Hardanger region during his lifetime. He later re-arranged many of these in his famous work Opus 150, Hundrad folkatonar frao Hardanger.

On the album Fodne ho svara stilt the three highly accomplished folk singers Åsne Valland Nordli, Berit Opheim and Benedicte Maurseth honors Tveitts work giving the old solo songs new arrangements with vocal-harmonies and free improvisation, both a cappella and together with other instruments such as Hardanger fiddle, and piano, accordion and harmonium performed by Kristin Skaare.
